About Us

Kathryn oversees Orchard Street’s approach to Responsible Investment to ensure delivery of meaningful social and environmental outcomes. She works across all client mandates from ESG integration to supporting the development and implementation of the firm’s Impact strategies. 

Prior to joining Orchard Street in 2024, Kathryn led portfolio sustainability and social impact at Great Portland Estates (GPE), and previously held sustainability roles at Intu Properties, Prudential, and Hammerson. She is a Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv) and a Full Member of IEMA.

Started his career at Aviva Investors in 2008 gaining extensive experience on a range of funds in both the UK and Australia.  Tom joined Orchard Street Investment Management in 2014 and works on the investment team on behalf of all client mandates.  Tom holds the IMC and is a MRICS.

Started his property career at Matthews & Goodman in 2003, joined Legal & General 2005 and worked across a variety of their retail properties.  Fergus joined Universities Superannuation Scheme Investment Management in 2008 where he was the fund manager of the retail and leisure portfolio and his role included a number of purchases and disposals.   Fergus joined Orchard Street in 2014 where he is responsible for retail asset management.

Started his career at Jones Lang Wootton in 1983 (now JLL/LaSalle Investment Management) where he became International Director. Philip has extensive experience in all aspects of UK commercial real estate investment management for equity only and leveraged portfolios in both private and public ownership. Philip joined Orchard Street in 2013 after co-founding Gatehouse Investment in 2001, then a period at Insight Investment before co-leading the formation of Invista Real Estate before/after its IPO where Philip was Deputy CEO. Philip is Managing Partner at Orchard Street and a FRICS.

Ajay joined Orchard Street in March 2020 from Legal & General Investment Management where he was responsible for the accounting function for multiple funds across unit trust, joint venture and special purpose vehicles.

Prior to Legal & General, Ajay gained real estate fund experience at Saltgate UK Ltd and Hermes Investment Management where he  held fund accounting and operations roles.

Ajay graduated from University of Surrey with a Bachelor of Accounting and Financial Management. He is ACCA qualified. 

Alpa joined Orchard Street in March 2021 from The Crown Estate where she held various roles and was most recently Commercial Finance Manager for the Regional Retail portfolio. Prior to that Alpa held roles with Warner Estate Holdings and started her career with Ernst & Young. Alpa graduated from Rhodes University South Africa and is ACCA qualified.

Qualified as a Solicitor in 1985 and spent more than 28 years as a commercial real estate lawyer and as a partner in City law firms, Berwin Leighton, Olswang and Nabarro. In 2014, Philip joined AEW as Head of Legal & Compliance in London where he led the compliance oversight for LSE listed REITs’, FCA authorised funds and several UK and overseas separate account mandates. Philip joined  Orchard Street in March 2020.

Sarah joined Orchard Street in 2016 and works as an Assistant Portfolio Manager of the Orchard Street Social & Environmental Impact Partnership. She brings extensive experience in office and industrial asset management, with a particular focus on decarbonisation and sustainable refurbishment/redevelopment projects.

Sarah has been instrumental in driving the practical implementation of decarbonisation strategies across our portfolios. Her expertise spans both asset and investment management, underpinned by a strong commitment to Impact Investing.

She has been a member of Orchard Street’s Responsible Investment Committee since its inception in 2017, and also sits on the firm’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee.

Barney started his career in 2000 at Weatherall Green & Smith (now BNP Paribas) before becoming an investment agent at Strutt and Parker. In 2004 Barney joined Aberdeen Asset Management in their investment team and in 2006 became an Associate Director in Fund Management. Barney joined Orchard Street in 2008 as an Associate and became a Partner in 2010. Barney is Head of Acquisitions and a MRICS.

Richard started his career at MEPC in 1997, and later held posts at L&G, Insight Investment, and Invista Real Estate where he was Director and Head of Industrial. Richard has wide experience across all sectors of the UK market with a particular focus on Business Space asset management. Richard joined Orchard Street in 2011 and became Associate in 2013. He is now Head of Business Space and became a Partner in 2016. Richard is a MRICS.
